8 Stories on Fantasy Rebound Candidates & Deep Sleepers

We’re just at the beginning of summer, so our links to these eight stories on Fantasy rebound candidates and deep sleepers should help you wile away the summer heat until football season arrives!

Summer is a time for kids to recharge before the drudgery of another school year falls upon them, and in that spirit, we’re linking out to several Fantasy Football articles from our Fantasy Sports Syndicate friends that discuss Fantasy rebound candidates.

These are players that we all once regarded as Fantasy stars, but alas, they have fallen on hard times in recent seasons.

Some of the other links in this list are to articles about deep Fantasy Football sleepers that are worth a look late in your big league drafts.

The term “deep sleepers” means different things to different people, but for me, it means players still available after about 14 rounds of a traditional 12-team Fantasy draft.

And before you even dip into the eight links below, here’s a bonus link to the Top 16 Fantasy Football Sleeper Picks For 2017 over at FantasyKnuckleheads.com!

8 Stories About Fantasy Rebound Candidates & Deep Sleepers

Nothing is better than getting good value at a lower spot than a player should be selected, and that’s what today’s link list is all about!

5 Early Fantasy Football Sleepers You Should Target

By Zach Greubel of GridironExperts.com

Ok, well, these aren’t deep sleepers, per se, but anyone pitching Breshad Perriman deserves a look. Everyone else is down on the guy the same way they are down on fellow 2015-NFL-Draft-classmate Kevin White, but Perriman has shown some talent on the field at least. Greubel points out some fun stats:

”Perriman’s bread and butter is the deep ball, and while Flacco did shy away somewhat from the deep ball in 2016, Perriman was one of 12 receivers with at least 60 targets to average more than 15 yards per reception last year. His opportunities will greatly increase this year, too. Smith and Aiken leave behind 151 targets, not to mention the 63 targets Kyle Juszczyk and Justin Forsett had combined. That’s 214 targets vacated from last season. Furthermore, Dennis Pitta’s career could be over after re-injuring his nagging hip. That could be another 121 targets to go around.” – Greubel

Under the Radar Breakout Candidates

By INORTON at DynastyFootballFactory.com

Here’s a nice deep sleeper piece that details why Jalen Richard might just be your favorite late-round pick this draft prep season. As much as I love DeAndre Washington, Richard proved to be more than adept as the backup RB to Latavius Murray last season. Norton notes that this youngster rushed for 5.9 yards per carry, and Marshawn Lynch is not guaranteed to be a full 16-game player after one year off.

Impact Rookies For 2017

By Doug Orth of FFToday.com

Orth has been writing about Fantasy Football for a couple decades now, and this is a fun series he started. He counts backwards, listing the top 16 rookies (he hasn’t announced his top 10 yet) for this season (not for the coming seasons or over the course of their careers). He even lists the players that just missed the top-16 cut! Those are the guys I’m deeming “deep sleepers”! Rams WR Cooper Kupp, for instance, is mentioned as a possible high-volume target that will play the slot, like Jamison Crowder, in Sean McVay’s offense.

2017 SCFE Early Mock Draft: Let the Draft Shenanigans Begin!

By Michael Tomlin of SoCalledFantasyExperts.com

Look through this 16-round PPR mock draft to find all sorts of deep sleepers (Rams WR Robert Woods!) and bounce-back candidates (Kelvin Benjamin!). By the way, I took KB in Round 5, and I’ll happily watch him continue to fall in ADP. Sure, he got fat, and the Panthers drafted some other weapons, but none of them can win on 50/50 balls like Benjamin, and he can get back in shape in literally two weeks. It’s JUNE!

Fantasy Outlooks For Redskins’ WR Terrelle Pryor & Browns’ RB Kenny Britt

By Frank Stampfl of RotoExperts.com

The Browns chose to sign Kenny Britt and let Pryor, the former quarterback coming off a career season with the Browns, sign with the Redskins. While Pryor certainly has a higher ADP, could Britt bring back better value as a later pick? Britt is also coming off a career year, and he had an even worse quarterback situation than Pryor did!

2017 Fantasy Football Matthew Stafford Profile

By Chris Luft of FantasySixPack.net

Stafford’s ADP is relatively low this season (108), despite what he accomplished in last year’s non-Megatron season, which included three games in which he played with a dislocated thumb! Luft pitches Stafford for prospective Fantasy owners as a sleeper for big numbers at the QB position.

Saints Sign Adrian Peterson

By Keith Lott of WeTalkFantasySports.com

This article was from about six weeks ago, but the signing of A.P. would seem to affect Mark Ingram’s potential. Then again, Ingram has dealt with a crowded backfield for every one of his NFL seasons.

2017 Fantasy Football Running Back Rankings: Young Turks

By David Gonos of DavidGonos.com

In my midsummer running backs rankings, I’ve discovered I’m much higher on players like Devontae Booker, James Conner and T.J. Yeldon than others. I’m a rebel.

Meanwhile, over at FNTSY.com …

The “RotoExperts In the Morning” talked about several deep sleepers this week, including Rams TE Tyler Higbee and Bengals rookie WR John Ross. But specifically, they really broke down second-year Titans WR Tajae Sharpe and his upside as a late sleeper in Fantasy Football drafts this summer! Considering how strong he was last preseason, he could be considered one of the preseason Fantasy rebound candidates, too!

We’ll be back next week for another tour around the Fantasy Football world, and while we might not be talking Fantasy rebound candidates, we’ll definitely be sharing other helpful draft prep information!
