Week 4 TE Rankings — Sponsored by SKYLLZONE

Rob Gronkowski, 2014 Tight End Rankings

Who doesn’t love a great tight end? The Week 4 TE rankings are mixed up just a bit compared to previous weeks, as we have injuries to keep an eye out for and six teams on by weeks. That tends to change the Fantasy tight ends landscape, fo’ sho’.

Two players that continue to skyrocket up the rankings are first-year starters in the NFC East. While rookie Larry Donnell has taken over for Brandon Myers with the Giants, becoming one of Eli Manning’s favorite targets, former wide receiver Niles Paul has picked up the slack from injured Jordan Reed in Washington. New quarterback Kirk Cousins seems to throw to him a lot, also.

Antonio Gates looks like he’ll keep his eye-opening season going against the Jaguars this week, further driving down the value of future star Ladarius Green.

Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph will miss about six weeks now that he needs surgery on his injured groin. That opens the door for backup Rhett Ellison. With a new quarterback under center in Minnesota, we could see Teddy Bridgewater rely on his tight end more than usual, so keep an eye on Ellison this week.

More bad news for Dennis Pitta, as he dislocated his hip for the second time in his career, which opens the door for Owen Daniels. No doubt, he was a popular pickup on the waiver wire this week, as he gets the starting gig in the Ravens’ offense. Offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak is very familiar with Daniels, and things are looking up for the veteran.

When you look at the Week 4 TE rankings, you’ll notice that this position is much deeper than the other positions this week, while six teams sit on byes. Really, Jordan Cameron and Julius Thomas are the only starting Fantasy tight ends resting this week.

We like to use the “Defenses vs. Pos” stats from CBSSports.com. Basically, this tool tells you the average points per position a defense gives up.
