Daily Fantasy Baseball — Opening Day Tips For Draft Day

Adam Wainwright, St Louis Cardinals Daily Fantasy Baseball

Last Fantasy Football season, the guys at DraftDay.com set up DavidGonos.com readers with a ton of great free rolls in their Fantasy games. And now they’re doing it again with their Daily Fantasy Baseball games! Opening Day is pretty awesome already, and now somebody just hit the turbo button.

It’s incredibly easy to get going – just click on the link, open an account, choose “MLB” for your sport, and you can either pick the Freeballin’ league, with a zero buy-in, or you can roll the dice against another group for buy-ins that range from $1 to over $500. The best part is that the jackpots range from $1.80 (if you go head-to-head with someone for $1) up to $5,000 if you do the $27 buy-in on the $5k Moon Shot” league.

Also, Draft Day does some other great games within their games. For instance, on some games, with the “Jackpot” logo, you can win big if you end up beating the Draft Day high score! Or, if the game you choose has a “Target” logo, you can split the prize with any other players that also hit the mark.

Wainwright is a couple seasons away now from Tommy John surgery and he faces a Diamondbacks team that is missing last year’s star center fielder (Justin Upton) and this year’s star center fielder (Adam Eaton).

Pitcher: Tim Hudson, ATL ($8.250)
The 14-year veteran faces a tough contest versus Philadelphia, but the Phillies hit just .273 this spring, which is in the bottom half of all MLB teams.

Catcher: Salvador Perez, KC ($6,200)
The young backstop has five hits in 16 at-bats vs. Chris Sale, and he hit .358 against lefties last season, in 81 at-bats.

In 61 at-bats against Giants P Matt Cain, the former Padres 1B has 19 hits (.311), including four homers.

While he’s not super strong against righties (.236 against them last year), he does have five hits (two doubles and a homer) in 15 at-bats against James Shields.

Third Base: Aramis Ramirez, MIL ($8,550)
In 12 at-bats against Jhoulys Chacin, Ramirez has five hits and 10 total bases.

Shortstop: Troy Tulowitzki, COL ($9,950)
Tulo is healthy and he hit three homers this spring. He has also hit .389 in 18 at-bats against Yovani Gallardo.

In 14 at-bats against Marlins P Ricky Nolasco, Harper has four base hits (.286). He also hit .286 against all right-handers last season, with 16 homers in 350 at-bats. (Oh, and he hit .478 this spring to lead all batters!)

Outfielder: Lorenzo Cain, KC ($6,700)
Cain has a homer and a double in 14 at-bats against Sale, who he’ll face in the opener. He also hit three homers with a .306 batting average in 72 at-bats against lefties last year.
